For someone who has lived in the relatively small town of Sihanoukville for 5 years, I’m still not very clued in when it comes to giving directions. I don’t know the names of any of the streets except for Ekareach Street and I misspell the names of many of the beaches and attractions. The fact that until now I haven’t had a good map to follow is part of the reason. The other part is that I have a lousy sense of direction. I would have gotten lost a million times if I didn’t have the afternoon sun to follow. Even then, I’ve taken some pretty circuitous routes to get home when I’ve been out exploring on my mountain bike.
Just this morning I discovered Smartpage Cambodia. It’s like a Google map, but focuses purely on Cambodia. After zooming in, I was actually able to locate the street I live on. Since it’s a narrow dirt cul de sac less than 100 metres long, that’s almost a miracle. Here’s a screenshot:
Check out Smart Page Cambodia. Maybe you won’t get lost like I do.
